Turning Around a Backward Property

Wayland, Massachusetts

When you first drive up to this home, you don't notice how it overlooks the Sudbury River. Sure the .46 acre lot is serene and in a great neighborhood, but why does the house seem backward? That's because the traditional looking front of the house was built to face the river, but no one sees that unless they are looking up the hillside. While the back of the house where you access the property was left plain and unadorned.

HDC president David J. Howe immediately saw that the way to turn this property around was to give the basic rear entry a upgrade worthy of front door status and to renovate the existing, outdated three bedroom house into a home that would meet the needs of today's families. Three architectural gables have been added over the back door, which has elevated the rear entry from "oh hum' to 'OH WOW!'  The fully updated kitchen, as shown in the 3D rendering, comes equipped with a new breakfast island and stainless steel appliances. The downstairs level has been redesigned to include a spacious home office, laundry area and a large, finished open area which could be used as a family room, play room, home gym or all of the above. All this just minutes from major routes, shops and restaurants, as well as Wayland's top schools and more.

This gorgeous home has already sold and we are on to new projects. For more information on how to turn around your backward home, please contact our office at 800.609.8388.
